Abstract

This project is intended to develop an Online Learning Management System  for Carlos Hilado Memorial State College - Talisay to address solutions to the problems found by the proponents during data gathering such as limited access to learning materials, deficient self-paced learning opportunities and lack of integration of technology in learning. Based on the problems found existing in the institution, the proponents suggested that the Online Learning Management System is the answer or solution to the said problems. The system would primarily allow the faculty and students to deliver and acquire learning materials and activities online. This online learning environment encourages students and faculty collaboration through the monitoring of students' comprehension and participation in online practice quizzes and submission of assignments, their activity on the post and messages, and the learning materials. The administrator would be the one to maintain the system.

During the development, the System Development Life Cycle used by the researchers is the Iterative and Incremental Development Methodology. Research approaches such as literature review, observation and data collection were also used to gather sufficient information. Through continuous and step by step process of developing this study, the output of evaluation that was being administered to the respondents resulted in a very high rate. It is then concluded that Online Learning Management System is a helpful learning venue and classroom management tool for the faculty and students in the institution. It is recommended that trainings for the faculty, students and administrator about computer literacy should be administered so that these end-users would become knowledgeable and proficient in using the Online Learning Management System.
