Ferrer Memorial School of Fisheries, the proponents found out that the school are having problem with regards to their manual operation of election. The students take a long time in canvassing of votes and delivering the result, too much labor cost and paper works, and inaccurate counting of votes. On the other hand, the proponents found out that the said institution is complete in terms of the technology resources. They have computers that can be used to lessen the time spent in conducting the elections.
The main concern of the study focused only to the automation of the current manual voting system of Supreme Student Government of Inocencio V. Ferrer Memorial School of Fisheries. This proposed system focuses only on the election process of the school, canvassing and tallying of votes. Generated report of the system includes the total tally of votes of each candidate. The users of the system are only teh officially enrolled students of Inocencio V. Ferrer Memorial School of Fisheries from first year to fourth year students as voters and some teaching staff as facilitators. The conversion of manual voting system to automated voting system offers both benefits and opportunities. The significance and benefits of the system are to lessen the time of canvassing of votes and delivering the results of election. It also offers opportunities because it requires personnel to operate or manipulate the system and for the maintenance of the system. The personnel must be trained in order to utilize and manage the system properly and the students as one of the user of the system should have an overview of the system. Given the benefits of the proposed system, it is recommended that Inocencio V. Ferrer Memorial School of Fisheries will implement the automated voting system for their SSG Election.
